They were scary and felt 'endgame'.Īlso out of curiosity, which biomes were pointless? The only one I can think of is that lost river area the is sort of seperate to the rest. I loved adding the my movable base over time. The story makes NO sense, the characters make silly choices and are loud and inconstant in personality traits.įor me, i loved the cyclops. ![]() However, S: BZ has some of the worst writing I have seen in a modern video game. Stalker Teeth consistently fell through the world. The last fourth of the game dragged on and on. Many of the biomes had nothing of interest or reason to ever visit them. Originally posted by BigWaves:The first Subnautica is a masterpiece IMO. Not sure how anyone could have played both games and honestly come to the conclusion that the sequel is better. I guess it is different on consoles, but on PC SN1 had very few pop in issues and was overall one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever experienced.Īs for below zero… they decreased the draw distance to prevent pop ins on lower quality systems and in turn made the water murkier so that you wouldn’t notice the decrease draw distance.īesides having an awful plot and boring gameplay, BZ makes me feel like I’m swimming in a shallow muddied pond. If you have already beaten the original, then Below Zero will give you a similar but new experience. Below Zero has a smaller world to explore but it is more densely packed.īoth games are great. Below Zero has zero pop-in and performs better in general.īoth games have plenty of cool locations to explore and things to do. The environments in the original game suffered from serious texture pop-in as a result of the way the game was programmed. in the original yes you had to x y and z location but those locations were interesting. all there was to do in subzero was go to x y and z location. Sound like the game didn't sit well with your rig.(that would explain the stalker teeth) ![]() ![]() This is a good example of how ridiculous people are. That said, it still has a few issues but if you enjoyed Subnautica, I'm not sure why you wouldn't also enjoy Sub Zero. Sub Zero is basically an improvement in almost every conceivable way. It's definitely a case of rose-tinted glasses with the original. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. Within the last few weeks, I played (and completed) Sub Zero, then went back and played the original again and. I had played (and beaten) Subnautica awhile back and liked it, but had some issues with it. It's actually probably better than the original Subnautica. In todays episode we found the hidden rocket island in subnautica below zero and it has all of the blueprints you could ever wish for, like multipurpose room, jukebox, alien containment.
